The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

The Continuous Improvement Manager plays a pivotal role in driving efficiency, productivity, and quality improvements within the operations of an aerospace manufacturing company. They spearhead initiatives aimed at continuous improvement, lean methodologies, and operational excellence to streamline processes, minimize waste, and boost performance across all operational areas.
As a pivotal figure in driving operational excellence, the Continuous Improvement Manager leads efforts to implement lean methodologies, foster a culture of innovation, and promote continuous learning. Through their adeptness in process optimization and change management, they facilitate sustainable enhancements, contributing significantly to the organization's competitiveness and success.

Main responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of continuous improvement strategies in alignment with organizational objectives.
• Identify improvement opportunities by analyzing existing processes, metrics, and stakeholder feedback.
• Utilize lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other tools to optimize processes and enhance efficiency.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee cross-functional improvement projects to streamline operations and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with department heads and team leaders to define project scope, goals, timelines, and resource needs.
• Provide leadership and guidance to project teams to ensure successful project completion.
• Promote the adoption of lean manufacturing practices throughout the organization.
• Implement lean tools such as value stream mapping and visual management systems to improve workflow.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement and provide training and development opportunities to support employee growth.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt) highly desirable.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or process optimization roles within aerospace manufacturing or related industries.
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making abilities.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving measurable improvements in operational performance and efficiency.
• Change management expertise and experience in driving cultural transformation initiatives.
• Proficiency in continuous improvement tools and methodologies (e.g., DMAIC, Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke).
