Division info:

The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

Validate CNC process integrity and determine Operation go-ahead by verification of First Off piece. Creates new or modifies current programs on the CMM based off drawings

Main responsibilities:

• Provide First Off inspections as requested by Manufacturing
• Verify accuracy of gauges & standards used for F/O piece
• Validate accuracy and completeness of QMPO to ensure identification, traceability and inspection status requirements are current at time of inspection
• Perform layout inspections of forgings
• Liaise with Engineering for Prove Out Process
• Populate AS9102 FAI paperwork with drawing characteristics and actuals
• Generate Baan NCRs for parts that are non-conforming at inspection
• Participate in daily Operations Meeting by providing information for preventive or corrective actions
• Ensure all Manufacturing documentation is available and completed by the operators (OSI checksheets, spc, etc.)
• Verify Manufacturing Jigs & Fixtures for conformance to requirements
• Report all actual or potential non-conforming conditions for preventive or corrective actions
• Assist with Root Cause and Corrective Action
• Provide information to Engineering with respect to product and process improvements that reduce cycle time, defects, rework or scrap
• Create CMM Programs
• Train Machinists for Basic CMM operation
• Daily Operator maintenance of CMM equipment
• Perform customer Delegated Source Inspection, as authorized
• Conducts self at all times in a professional manner and adheres to all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements
• Attends daily QC department shift start up meetings
• Other QC related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education
• Min. high school completion.

Experience
• Minimum 3 years working in manufacturing environment or equivalent
• Aerospace Experience is preferred
• Supervisory experience is an asset

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• High level of accountability due to criticality of the product
• In depth knowledge of HD manufacturing methods and HD process variation
• Ability to perform detailed positional and dimensional inspection of complex parts and assemblies
• Advanced level of GD&T and technical drawings interpretation
• Ability to use measuring, inspection and testing tools and equipment
• In depth knowledge of PC DMIS® and Enovia®
• Knowledge of HD AS9100 procedures
• Knowledge of Customer requirements (Document 300, Document 200, PRIDE Manual, SEAD audits, ICS, ICY etc)
• Practical understanding of customer configuration control
• Use of Baan for QC transactions and data entry

***Shift rotation between days and afternoons may be required***
Starting wage $29.56-$32.71 based of experience
