The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

As a Environmental, Health, Safety and Facilities Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of facilities, maintaining compliance with environmental regulations, and promoting a culture of health and safety within the organization.

Main responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with insurance, legal and corporate requirements for Environmental, Health, Safety and facility.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of facilities to ensure functionality and safety.
• Manage insurance report audits, corporate EH&S audits and associated actions.
• Interface with Government Agencies for any EH&S permits, communication, reports or actions.
• Manage facility projects and associated CAPEX budget as well as OPEX budget for services.
• Drive the implementation of a proactive EH&S culture within the factory.
• Develop and implement an EH&S management system with policies and procedures.
• Identify, analyse, support, and implement environmental initiatives and improvements that aim at reducing the site’s environmental footprint including energy use and GHG emissions.
• Track EH&S progress against objectives and targets and manage Key Performance Indicators.
• Manage regular EH&S site inspections to verify compliance to corporate and legal requirements.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and EH&S observations, identifying root causes, suggesting preventive measures and following actions to effective closure.
• Collaborate with supervisors to ensure that every employee undergoes mandatory EH&S training upon commencement of employment and during employment.
• Provide EH&S awareness through toolbox talks and training sessions for employees.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to EH&S compliance, incidents and facility management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Facilities Management, or related field.
• Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
