Under the responsibility of the FP&A Manager and the assistant controller, the financial analyst's main mandate is to develop financial analyses of the aviation programs and operating costs of the Longueuil site as well as participating the planning, budgeting, and forecasting (PBF) and accounting (month end) cycles.

This role will allow the candidate to develop skills in financial and management accounting in a manufacturing operations environment. The candidate will develop, among other things, their knowledge of the supply chain, production operations, as well as aviation programs in order to evaluate their accounting impact as well as the profitability of the site. The role is designed to serve as a stepping stone to a future role as Assistant Controller, FP&A Manager or Program/Operations Manager.

Main responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a standardized methodology for analyzing the different aviation programs and operating costs of the factory;
• Produce and regular update “Costed Bill of Material” item nomenclature;
• Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction and make recommendations in relation to these;
• Participate in the month-end process, including journal entries, the preparation of financial statements as well as analyses and comments;
• In coordination with the assistant controller, participate in the investment approval process (CAPEX);
• Support internal and external audits;
• Participate in the development of budgets and financial forecasts for the division;
• Support and monitor process improvement and cost reduction projects;
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders: program management, operations, procurement, etc.;
• Lead and support the development of tools leveraging PowerQuery and Power Bi.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance, being a member in good standing of the CPA or CFA order is an asset;
• Minimum experience of 1 to 3 years in a similar position;
• Demonstrates initiative and excellent communication skills;
• Ability to work effectively independently or in a team;
• Obvious talent for managing time and setting priorities;
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel; Power BI (major asset)
• Advance French, functional English (for communication with other Canadian units)
