The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

Under the responsibility of the FP&A Manager, the Cost Management Financial Analyst (FP&A) main’s mandate is to develop and/or take charge on financial analysis of the aviation programs of the Longueuil factory and to participate in forecasting & budget exercises of the company to support the cost price/cost monitoring function in achieving its objectives of improving costs and profitability.

This role will allow the candidate to develop skills in business finance and management. The candidate will develop, among other things, their knowledge of the supply chain, production operations as well as aviation programs and to evaluate their impact on the profitability of the factory. The role can serve as a steppingstone to a managerial role in finance or operations as it requires in depth understanding of all the business aspects.

Main responsibilities:

•Develop and maintain a methodology for analyzing the division's different programs in order to standardize them, while being able to capture the specificities of each programs.
•Production and regular updating of the costs of the item nomenclature “Costed Bill of Material”
•Monitoring the performance of the division's programs, particularly in terms of costs, item nomenclature and production hours performance;
•Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction and make recommendations in connection with these;
•Participation in Program Reviews / Contract Launch / Procurement Committee / Method Committee for all supported programs;
•Develop and maintain relationships with program stakeholders (program management, operations, procurement, etc.) to facilitate improvement initiatives;
•Support to the accounting team for the end of the month in terms of program margin analyses;
•Responsible in conjunction with the head of the development of budgets and financial forecasts for the division;
•Support for improvement and cost reduction projects.

Qualifications:

•Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance and holds a CPA or CFA designation;
•Minimum of 4 years of work experience in accounting, finance, and/or cost pricing, cost analysis; preferably in a manufacturing reality;
•Demonstrates a strong interest in management accounting and operational performance;
•Demonstrates initiative, leadership, and excellent communication skills;
•Ability to work effectively under pressure, independently or in a team;
•Obvious talent for managing time and setting priorities;
•Advanced level on Microsoft Excel;
•Bilingual.
